A major highlight of the visit was the national recognition of the departmentâs leadership when Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan was interviewed by prominent news channel Channel I. During the interview, he emphasized the critical importance of industry exposure for pharmacy graduates and the universityâs dedication to developing skilled professionals prepared for the global market. To integrate this hands-on learning into their academic journey, the participating senior students are currently preparing a comprehensive report detailing their observations and interactions with industry leaders. This initiative reflects Eastern Universityâs ongoing efforts to connect classroom theory with industrial practice, ensuring students remain at the forefront of pharmaceutical sciences. âExposure to real industry environments is essential for our students,â said Dr. Abu Bin Ihsan, Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy. âEvents like the Asia Pharma Expo allow them to witness cutting-edge innovations firsthand and understand how their academic knowledge translates into impactful solutions for the healthcare sector. We are proud to equip the next generation of pharmacy professionals with both the knowledge and practical insight they need to excel globally.â This participation underscores Eastern Universityâs vision of fostering meaningful academic-industry collaborations that prepare graduates to lead in the evolving pharmaceutical landscape. On 25th February 2026, we had the privilege of arranging a heartfelt initiative â âRamadan Iftar with Orphans & Quiz Contest.â It was not just an Iftar; it was a beautiful gathering filled with compassion, learning, and shared smiles. We were honored to sit together with orphan children, break our fast as one family, and organize an Islamic Quiz Competition specially for them. Seeing their enthusiasm, confidence, and bright smiles truly made the evening unforgettable. Three talented participants were awarded prizes for their outstanding performance, but in truth, every child present was a winner in spirit. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, Head of the Department & Associate Professor, and Rifat Hasan Riyad, Lecturer, for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us and share this special Iftar. A special note of appreciation goes to Professor Brigadier General Dr. A K M Iqbal Azim, Dean & Professor, and Farhana Khan, Associate Professor & Coordinator of BSEC. Although they could not be physically present due to personal commitments, their continuous support and guidance from a distance played a vital role in making this program successful. Heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated BSEC members whose hard work, coordination, and sincerity turned this noble vision into reality. And special appreciation to the members who were present and made the evening even more vibrant and memorable with their active participation. Ramadan teaches us empathy, unity, and gratitude. This initiative was a small step toward spreading kindness and sharing blessings. May Allah accept our efforts and allow us to continue serving humanity in the future.

It is with immense pride and joy that Eastern University announces a historic achievement. For the very first time in the universityâs history, the team from the Eastern University Moot Court Society (EUMCS) has qualified for the International Rounds of the Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition 2025-26. This prestigious international event is scheduled to be held from April 14th to April 16th, 2026, at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Oxford. The EUMCS team, comprising Md Sakib Khondoker, Jonayed Al Ratul, and Mehbuba Akter Maria, earned this qualification by demonstrating exceptional merit at the 16th South Asia Regional Rounds. This round, held virtually from February 6th to 8th, 2026, was hosted by National Law University (NLU), Delhi, in collaboration with the Centre for Communication Governance at NLU Delhi and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, University of Oxford. Notably, this marks the first time any team from Bangladesh has secured a position in the Semifinals of the regional round, adding further glory to the team's success. Furthermore, Eastern University will be the sole representative from Bangladesh on this international stage this year. The Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, established in 2008, is recognized as one of the most respected global mooting competitions. Named in honor of Professor Monroe E. Price, the founder of the Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy (PCMLP) at the University of Oxford, the competition serves as a unique platform for students to debate and explore complex legal issues related to freedom of expression and international law. It particularly encourages students from developing countries to engage in informed debates regarding international norms of free speech and the intersection of law and technology. This landmark achievement is a shining example of Eastern Universityâs commitment to legal excellence and rigorous academic inquiry. The Faculty of Law and the Eastern University Moot Court Society (EUMCS) express their heartfelt gratitude to the coaches, faculty members, and supportive peers whose proper guidance and unwavering support played a pivotal role in reaching this milestone. Eastern University is thrilled to celebrate the success of the EUMCS team and looks forward to their continued excellence on the global stage. The university extends its very best wishes to the team as they prepare to represent Eastern University in this prestigious arena, upholding the principles of freedom of expression and international law. Good luck to Team EUMCS on this incredible opportunity to prove their merit internationally!

The Department of Pharmacy at Eastern University, in coordination with the Eastern University Pharma Club, successfully hosted its Annual Picnic on February 5, 2026, at the vibrant Nandan Park. Recognizing that periodic breaks from the rigorous academic schedule are essential for maintaining motivation and fostering a healthy work-life balance, the department organized this excursion to bring together students, faculty, and their families for a day of relaxation and community building. The day began with great enthusiasm as participants arrived at the park, quickly diving into the various attractions. The morning was filled with energy as everyone enjoyed the parkâs signature rides and the refreshing environment of the Water World. This informal setting provided a unique opportunity for students and faculty members to interact outside the traditional classroom environment, strengthening the bonds that define the "Pharmacy Family" at Eastern University. Following a communal lunch, the festivities continued with a series of organized games and spirited activities designed to encourage teamwork and friendly competition. The event reached its peak with a highly anticipated raffle draw, where several lucky winners were celebrated by their peers. By combining recreation with engagement, the picnic served as a reminder of the importance of collective joy in achieving academic excellence. The Department of Pharmacy extends its sincere thanks to the organizers and the Pharma Club for ensuring the eventâs success and looks forward to returning to campus with renewed energy and focus.
