Eastern University held its 201st Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting today on 25 July 2026 in the Universityโs Conference Room. The meeting was presided over by BoT Chairman Barrister Safayet Mohammad Raju, in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani.
BoT members present included Mr. Abul Quasem Haider, Prof. Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam, Mr. Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Mohammad Enayet Ullah, Abul Khair Chowdhury, Ms. Kazi Shamsun Nahar Sheouly (Representative of Mr. M. Shakil Wahed), Engr. Khandaker Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Liaquat Hossain Moghul, Sk. Sayedur Rahman, Mohammed Ali Azzam, Md. Tanvir Mahmud, Md. Maniruzzaman Molla, Md. Shahriar (Representative of Adzi Trims Ltd.), and Khandaker Sakib Ahmed.
From the Eastern University Foundation, Sakhawat Abu Khair Mohammed and Md. Sanirul Islam Molla attended the meeting. Md. Shamsul Huda, Treasurer; Dr. Abul Basher Khan, Registrar, were also present on invitation.
The BoT, as the Universityโs highest governing body, reviewed and approved key academic and administrative matters, including policies, budget, appointments, research, quality assurance, and infrastructure development.
The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to advancing academic excellence and the overall institutional growth of Eastern University.
After the meeting, a floral reception was accorded to Prof. Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam on his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU). The Board congratulated him on this prestigious appointment and wished him every success in his new leadership role.
