TRIONEX 2026 brought together students, teachers, researchers, and industry experts for a day full of learning, innovation, and exciting competitions at Eastern University. We were honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Vice Chancellor and Professor, Eastern University, as the Chief Guest. His inspiring speech encouraged students to think creatively, work hard, and become future leaders. A big thank you to all our respected speakers, faculty members, judges, advisors, guests, sponsors, supporters, and the dedicated TRIONEX 2026 Organising Volunteers Panel for making this event a great success. Congratulations to all the winners and participants for their outstanding performances! Jointly organized by the IEEE Eastern University Student Branch and the IEEE Computer Society Eastern University Student Branch Chapter, TRIONEX 2026 showed the true spirit of teamwork, innovation, and student leadership.

ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির সামার ট্রাইমিস্টার ২০২৬-এর নবীনবরণ অনুষ্ঠান আজ, ২৭ জুন ২০২৬, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নিজস্ব ক্যাম্পাস, আশুলিয়ায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন দেশের বিশিষ্ট চিন্তাবিদ প্রফেসর ড. সলিমুল্লাহ খান, ইতিহাস ও দর্শন বিভাগ, নর্থ সাউথ ইউনিভার্সিটি। বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটির বোর্ড অব ট্রাস্টিজের চেয়ারম্যান ব্যারিস্টার সাফায়েত মোহাম্মদ রাজু। প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে প্রফেসর ড. সলিমুল্লাহ খান বলেন, উচ্চশিক্ষায় মাতৃভাষা বাংলার ব্যবহার বর্তমানে অত্যন্ত সীমিত; অথচ শিক্ষার গুণগত উন্নয়ন এবং কার্যকর জ্ঞানার্জনের জন্য মাতৃভাষার ব্যবহার অপরিহার্য। তিনি আরও বলেন, দেশের প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী শিল্পায়ন না হওয়ায় কাঙ্ক্ষিত কর্মসংস্থান সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে না, ফলে বেকারত্বের সমস্যাও রয়ে যাচ্ছে। তিনি প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশে গড়ে ওঠা ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি ক্যাম্পাসের সঙ্গে রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের শান্তিনিকেতনের তুলনা করেন। এছাড়া তিনি নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের জ্ঞানচর্চা, মানবিক মূল্যবোধের বিকাশ এবং আলোকিত জীবন গঠনে আত্মনিয়োগ করার আহ্বান জানান। সভাপতির বক্তব্যে উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী শিক্ষার্থীদের নৈতিক মূল্যবোধে উজ্জীবিত হয়ে দেশ ও সমাজের কল্যাণে সুনাগরিক হিসেবে নিজেদের গড়ে তোলার আহ্বান জানান। তিনি শিক্ষার্থীদের এ মর্মে শপথ করান যে, তারা কোনো অবস্থাতেই তাদের পিতা-মাতাকে বৃদ্ধাশ্রমে পাঠাবে না। তিনি বলেন, পিতা-মাতার সন্তুষ্টিই একজন সন্তানের জীবনে সফলতার অন্যতম প্রধান চাবিকাঠি। বিশেষ অতিথির বক্তব্যে ব্যারিস্টার সাফায়েত মোহাম্মদ রাজু নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনের প্রতিটি মুহূর্ত উপভোগ করার পাশাপাশি পড়াশোনা এবং দক্ষতা উন্নয়নে সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণের আহ্বান জানান। তিনি বলেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনই একজন শিক্ষার্থীর ভবিষ্যৎ গঠনের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সময়, তাই এ সময়কে যথাযথভাবে কাজে লাগাতে হবে। অনুষ্ঠানে আরও বক্তব্য রাখেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ট্রেজারার প্রফেসর মো. শামসুল হুদা, রেজিস্ট্রার ড. আবুল বাশার খান এবং বিভিন্ন অনুষদের ডিনবৃন্দ। অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য দেন ওরিয়েন্টেশন অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজক কমিটির কনভেনর ও ইংরেজি বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান মোহাম্মদ রফিউসসান। এ সময় বিভিন্ন বিভাগের প্রধান, শিক্ষক, কর্মকর্তা, কর্মচারী, অভিভাবক এবং নবীন শিক্ষার্থীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। অনুষ্ঠানে নবীন শিক্ষার্থীদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একাডেমিক কার্যক্রম, শিক্ষার্থী সহায়তা সেবা, বিভিন্ন ক্লাবের কার্যক্রম এবং ক্যাম্পাসের বিভিন্ন সুযোগ-সুবিধা সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত ধারণা প্রদান করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠান শেষে শিক্ষার্থীদের অংশগ্রহণে এক মনোজ্ঞ সাংস্কৃতিক পরিবেশনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

The Eastern University Engineering Club successfully organized a seminar on “Communications in the Telecom Sector” along with “The Ohm Challenge Season 1 – Award Giving Ceremony,” creating a vibrant platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and recognition. The event brought together students, faculty members, and industry professionals in an engaging and inspiring environment. The program was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Honorable Vice Chancellor; Guest of Honor Prof. Dr. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean, School of Engineering; and Session Chair Prof. Dr. Md. Abdullah Al Humayun, Head of the EEE Department. Their presence and valuable remarks inspired students to pursue excellence and innovation in their academic and professional journeys. The seminar featured insightful discussions on the current landscape of the telecom sector, future technological advancements, and emerging career opportunities for young engineers. The session speaker, Md. Zubaid Hossain, Consultant at Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited, delivered an informative presentation, sharing practical insights and real-world experiences that enriched the audience’s understanding of the industry. At the same event, the winners and participants of “The Ohm Challenge Season 1” were honored and awarded for their dedication, creativity, and outstanding achievements. The ceremony celebrated the spirit of innovation and encouraged students to apply their knowledge in practical and competitive settings. দুই দিনব্যাপী টানটান উত্তেজনাপূর্ণ এই টুর্নামেন্টে আবারও চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছে কম্পিউটার সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (CSE) বিভাগ। ফাইনালে ইলেকট্রিক্যাল অ্যান্ড ইলেকট্রনিক্স ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (EEE) বিভাগকে হারিয়ে হাড্ডাহাড্ডি লড়াইয়ের মধ্য দিয়ে শিরোপা নিশ্চিত করে CSE দল। এবারের টুর্নামেন্টে অংশগ্রহণ করে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মোট ৭টি বিভাগ—CSE, EEE, Civil, Law, Pharmacy, English এবং BBA। টুর্নামেন্টটির স্পন্সর ছিল ক্লেমন। পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানে মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. ফরিদ আহমদ সোবহানী বিজয়ীদের হাতে ট্রফি তুলে দেন। এ সময় রেজিস্ট্রার, ডিনবৃন্দ, বিভাগীয় প্রধানগণ, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মার্লিন ট্যুরস এন্ড ট্রাভেলস এর চেয়ারম্যান জুয়েল রেজোয়ানি মিয়াহ। এছাড়া ক্লেমন এর পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন গাজী আলমগীর। এই আয়োজনটি পরিচালিত হয় স্টুডেন্ট অ্যাফেয়ার্স ও প্লেসমেন্ট বিভাগ-এর উপ-পরিচালক কে. এম. মনিরুল ইসলাম-এর তত্ত্বাবধানে এবং সহযোগিতায় ছিল ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি গেমস ও স্পোর্টস ক্লাব। ইস্টার্ন ইউনিভার্সিটি কর্তৃপক্ষ ভবিষ্যতেও এ ধরনের আয়োজন অব্যাহত রাখার আশা প্রকাশ করেছে।

On April 20, 2026, the campus of Eastern University was beautifully adorned with colors and joy as we celebrated "Bangla Noboborsho - 1433". Organized by the Eastern University Cultural Club, the vibrant day-long festival brought together students, teachers, officials, staff, and alumni in a festive atmosphere. Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farid A. Sobhani graced the occasion as Chief Guest and emphasized that Pohela Boishakh is a day to reconnect with our roots and nurture our culture and human values. Treasurer Prof. Md. Shamsul Huda and Registrar Dr. Abul Bashar Khan also shared inspiring words, encouraging everyone to embrace our rich heritage. The celebration featured a colorful Boishakhi Mela, captivating cultural performances, flash mob, bioscope, nagordola, and delightful food & handicraft stalls. Students in traditional attire added extra vibrancy to the entire campus.

The program was attended by the Treasurer, Registrar, Deans, Department Heads, Faculty Members, and Staffs, making it a meaningful and engaging session. After the workshop, everyone joined together for a grand Iftar Mahfil and Doa, sharing the spirit of unity and blessings of the holy month of Ramadan.

Eastern University marked the sacred occasion of Sri Sri Saraswati Puja on 23 January 2026 in an atmosphere filled with reverence and celebration. Held at the Eastern University Playground, the program brought together faculty members, students, and university officials to participate in Pushpanjali, seeking blessings from Goddess Saraswati, the symbol of knowledge, wisdom, and creativity. We sincerely thank everyone who took part in the celebration and helped make the event graceful and memorable. Your presence added true value to this auspicious day.

Eastern University and United Healthcare have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in healthcare services for students, faculty members, and staff. The MoU signing ceremony was held yesterday at the United Medical College Hospital. The MoU was signed on behalf of Eastern University by Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, and on behalf of United Healthcare by Mohammad Faizur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer (Healthcare Division), United Group. Representing Eastern University at the ceremony were K. M. Monirul Islam, Deputy Director, Office of Student Affairs and Placement, and Md. Mohiuddin Majumder, Assistant Director, Public Relations. From United Healthcare, Tareq Sami Rahman, Head of Customer Relations Department & Corporate Marketing, was also present. Under the agreement, students, faculty members, and officers and staff of Eastern University will receive exclusive discounts on medical treatment, diagnostic tests, and cabin services at United Healthcare. Both institutions expressed optimism that this collaboration will enhance access to quality healthcare for the university community and pave the way for expanded cooperation in the future.
